Daily shift operations for independent hotels
InnRelay connects a QR guest portal with AM, PM and night-shift operations, so every request becomes an acknowledged, owned and visible hotel issue.
Built for busy shifts. Works beautifully on an iPad. No PMS integration required for the pilot.
Guest cannot join a work call. First report at 18:36.
Guest update due at 18:55. Room move considered.
Unresolved items stay at the top of the evening handover.
The costly gap
Most hotels already have smart staff. The failure is that a problem changes hands while the guest is still waiting for an answer. InnRelay gives the team one calm, shared source of truth.
A note exists somewhere, but the person who can resolve it does not see it at the right moment.
A maintenance fix without a service-recovery update still feels like no help to the guest.
Unresolved, guest-impacting issues are automatically collected before the handover is signed off.
One simple workflow
Not more software to administer. One deliberate path for the operational moments that most affect a stay.
Choose a room or area, issue type, urgency, and guest impact. Add a sentence that gives the next person enough context to act.
First report, before the issue becomes a story nobody can reconstruct.
Built for real shifts
Receive handover and complete the right checks for AM, PM or night.
Make “guest waiting” and “room out of order” impossible to miss.
Replace “someone is dealing with it” with one visible next action.
Show when the guest was last updated and when they need an answer.
Close an issue only when it is truly fixed, not merely passed on.
Open issues automatically follow the next team, with context intact.
Founding pilot
We are opening InnRelay to five independent hotels or serviced-apartment operators who want a simpler way to protect guest recovery between shifts.
One property, monthly billing, with the three-month design-partner terms agreed during onboarding.

Live Board

Guest feedback and InnRelay operations, with clear data coverage.
Review and operational figures cover the selected month; baselines show their stated earlier period.
Enter the reviews received during the selected reporting month. These are monthly figures, not all-time totals. No review text is needed. Ratings are converted to a 5-point scale.
Missing values stay unavailable. Enter zero only when it is the hotel's actual value.
Create a new version to revise an approved baseline. Approval history stays visible.
Recurring checks, shift records and any exception raised as an owned issue.
Stored only in this browser. Records created here are not shared with other devices and are not backed up to the hotel database. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
These records do not say which date they were taken on, and they identify their author only by initials. Confirm the date above before importing. Nothing is deleted from this browser.
Record each configured till. The £100 float is editable for each property or till.
Cash records are operationally sensitive. The live version should require a manager PIN, preserve an audit trail, and never store card details.
Use the approved temperature range set by the property; “cool” is not a measurable result.
Record the check and raise any fault immediately. This does not replace the property’s approved fire procedures.
Requests from the QR guest portal, organised around the next action.

Type any room number or choose an existing area. If the room does not exist, InnRelay creates it securely before making the QR.

Enter the first and last room once. Existing rooms are kept, missing rooms are created, and QR cards are prepared six per A4 sheet.
Use the Google account linked to this property. Only approved staff memberships can open hotel reports.
Required once per sign-in to protect staff accounts from automated attempts.

Shift handover
These require an owner or guest update during the next shift.
Use this as the final one-minute check before the handover is sent. What you tick is recorded with your name and the time.

New hotel workspace
Your Google account becomes the owner. InnRelay creates a separate property ID and secure QR namespace automatically.
Public guest-page URL, individual and bulk room QR creation, previews and six-per-A4 printing. The guest QR card design itself is unchanged.
Authorised staff, invitations and role restrictions. Your own session — identity, property switching and sign out — is managed from the account menu at the foot of the sidebar.
Signed-in identity, property switching and sign out live in the account menu at the foot of the sidebar, so no sign-in form is repeated inside the signed-in Settings view. Staff who are signed out reach Google and email/password sign-in from the Guest Inbox, where that interface is unchanged.
Departments, acknowledgement targets and the category-to-department map for this property. Changes save immediately.
Alerting that this build genuinely persists. Escalation timing is set per department, because that is where the production data actually lives.
Raise a desktop notification when a new urgent guest request arrives on this device. This uses the browser Notification permission and applies to this browser only.
Each department carries its own “acknowledge within” target, which drives the overdue and escalation behaviour on the Live Board and the scheduled server-side escalation job. Set it per department in Department Routing.
The approved design also showed guest-update reminder toggles and first-response targets as property-level settings. Those have no production persistence in this codebase — there is no column, table or handler behind them — so they are deliberately not presented here as working controls rather than being wired to local storage.

InnRelay is billed monthly for this property. Each subscription covers one property.

Records migrated from browser storage that InnRelay could not establish on its own — usually because the legacy data never recorded the date, the shift, or what kind of record it was. Reviewing an item never changes the original value; your decision is recorded beside it.
